Story

The Garvey sisters are bound together by their parents’ deaths and a promise to always protect each other. Sharon Horgan (Eva) is the sister of former Irish rugby player Shane Horgan.

What a piece of shit the brother-in-law is, John Paul (a very effective portrayal by Claes Bang). There’s always one of those nasty and horrible types in a family.

I just want to be a part of this wonderfully tangled family

So watching the sisters plot and fake Jean Paul’s death is such a pleasure in the most sinister way! The magic is the bond between the sisters, which feels so authentic, the way they look out for each other and push each other away with convincing banter.

The added bonus is the clumsy insurance-strapped half-siblings who add entertainment value as they try to solve the mysterious case

I haven’t seen the Belgian version, but this British remake looks like it will hold its own, thanks to the performances, playful direction, and a script that offers so much beyond the first two episodes, enough to get you hooked on this dark comedy thriller.
