Story

The Jackal is an elusive assassin who makes his living by committing high-dollar assassinations. He soon meets his match in the form of a tenacious British intelligence officer who tracks him down on an exciting cat and mouse chase across Europe. Set in 1963, The Day of the Jackal tells the story of the assassination of then French President Charles de Gaulle.

A remake of The Day of the Jackal (1973)

Yes, it’s a reboot, but they have a great release. Redmayne is fantastic as the cold-blooded killer, the Jackal! Excellent scenery in some beautiful parts of Europe.

It keeps you intrigued the entire time

The only criticism is the lead MI6 agent, who is bland and unimaginative. Being one of my favorite books, I was skeptical about another remake after the disaster that was the Bruce Willis movie. However, Day of the Jackal caught my attention from the very beginning and I kept my eyes glued to it for the first five episodes.

I hope the rest of the season is as good as the first half. Overall, though, it’s a really interesting show. The new season of Silo is one of the biggest TV and streaming premieres of the month.
