Story

Follows Cecile, a young woman who spends the summer at a villa in the south of France with her widowed father Raymond and his younger love interest Elsa. They have a lived-in compatibility, a world of ease and frailty. This is a lovely film about relationships, in this case a slightly complicated one. Very well written, shot and performed. Romantic landscapes on the south coast of France. Interesting character studies. All the actors do a great job, but Chloe Sevigny takes on the most difficult role and executes it brilliantly, walking the line between likeable and not, loving and not, caring and not. The plot line is pretty simple. It has a little twist that stretches things out a bit, but it’s still believable and definitely interesting and keeps our interest. Interesting dialogue and a captivating score.
